This is a split interim Campus Monitor/Custodian role.

JOB SUMMARY for CAMPUS MONITOR The Campus Monitor observes and supports students during lunch and passing breaks to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment conducive to student interaction and learning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions Ongoing Activities Supervise students during lunch/recess and passing periods, including enforcing school rules school boundaries, and school behavior expectations Ensure a safe environment in the lunchroom, school grounds and parking lot Work with other school staff to ensure sufficient level of supervision coverage in all areas of the lunch room, school yards and parking lot Help mediate and resolve conflicts between students Administer first aid as needed Manage computer logs and complete accident reports Help keep the campus clean Identify any major security or safety hazards and major repair needs in the recess area and ensure safety rules are followed Additional: Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior Perform other related duties as required and assigned QUALIFICATIONS Competencies: Good verbal and written communication skills Good problem solving ability; sound judgment Ability to interact appropriately with children of all ages Bilingual - Spanish and English (strongly preferred).
Computer skills Minimum educational level: High school diploma or equivalent First Aid and valid CPR training Experience required: 1+ years experience observing and supervising K-12 students preferred Ongoing behavior management and de-escalation training Physical requirements: Stand, walk or bend over, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull.
Move, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height Repetitive use of hands (i.
e.
fine manipulation, simple grasping, and power grasping) Demonstrate normal depth perception Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without auditory aides Work authorization requirements: Clear the Department of Justice background screening Authorized to work in the United States Provide health (TB) clearance (most update every four years) JOB SUMMARY for CUSTODIAN The Custodian cleans and maintains the school facility to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment conducive to student learning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions Cleans classrooms, restrooms, hallways, multipurpose room, offices, staff lounge and all interior and exterior areas of school.
Sets up and cleans the dining area before, between, during and after breakfast and/or lunch periods.
Responds to emergency cleanups during the day, such as clogged drains and spills.
Performs minor routine maintenance, including replacing lights, changing filters, etc.
Performs minor routine grounds-keeping duties, including picking up litter, weeding, mowing the lawn.
Reports required repair work to proper parties.
Sets up and arranges furniture for assemblies, meetings and special events.
Maintains awareness and readiness to respond to safety/security needs of students, staff and facilities.
