This Community Services Department is seeking to fill several Child Care Site Coordinator positions.
Both Part-time Hourly and Part-time Regular schedules are available: Part-time Hourly - Work hours will not exceed 19 hours a week.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 1pm - 4pm Part-time Regular - Work hours will be 25 hours or more per week.
Schedule: Monday through 12pm - 6pm This recruitment will be accepting applications for multiple vacancies, and may remain open on a continuous basis until the needs of the department are met.

All part-time, temporary, and seasonal workers are at-will employees.

Job Summary: To perform technical duties requiring specialized knowledge; to organize, assign and review the work of assigned staff engaged in developing and presenting after school childcare programs; and to provide highly responsible technical support to assigned supervisor.
Selection Process: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and whose interests and experience appear to meet the desired qualifications of the position will be invited to participate in the next steps of the recruitment process which may include: Supplemental Questions Oral Interview Conviction History As a finalist for a job, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS).
The resulting report of your conviction history (if any) will be used to determine whether the nature of your conviction (or arrest, in limited circumstances) conflicts with the specific duties and responsibilities of the job for which you are a finalist.
Having a conviction history does not automatically preclude you from a job with the City.
If you are selected as a finalist, you will be contacted to schedule a fingerprinting appointment.
The State of California also requires Childcare workers to complete a physical exam which includes Tuberculosis Screening (T.
B.
test) prior to hire.
Conclusion Verification: Applicants may be required to submit verification of qualifying education and experience at any point during the recruitment and selection process.

Disaster Service Workers: All City of Beverly Hills employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109).
Employment with the City requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect.
Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
Major Duties DEFINITION To perform technical duties requiring specialized knowledge; to organize, assign and review the work of assigned staff engaged in developing and presenting after school childcare programs; and to provide highly responsible technical support to assigned supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives direction from a Recreation Supervisor.
Exercises technical and functional supervision over assigned technical staff.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan, prioritize, and review the work of staff assigned to a variety of recreational and educational activities in the City’s after school childcare program.
Develop schedules and methods to accomplish assignments ensuring work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Participate in evaluating the activities of staff, recommending improvements and modifications.
Provide and coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies.
May supervise elementary school children ages 5-12 years old.
Maintain licensing paperwork and enforce state regulated policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe environment for program participants.
Order and purchase supplies and equipment.
Assist new or existing staff in learning departmental practices and protocols, methods and procedures.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect.
Be an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Experience and Training: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Two years of paid recreation or teaching experience.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by at least 15 units of college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, 3 or more of which must be in Administration.
License and Certificate Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, 15 hours of health and safety training that should include the following components: Pediatric First Aid; Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); A preventive health course or courses that include instruction in the recognition, management, and prevention of infectious diseases, including immunizations, and prevention of childhood injuries.
The training may include instruction in sanitary food handling, emergency preparedness and evacuation, and caring for children with special needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: Licensing requirements for child care facilities.
Principles and practices of technical and functional supervision and training.
Principles and techniques of child development and education.
Principles and practices of budget management and recordkeeping.
Ability to: Perform the most complex duties related to implementing an effective and productive after-school program for elementary school children.
Provide technical and functional supervision over assigned staff; effectively train staff.
Research, plan and lead age-appropriate recreational activities.
Accurately complete and maintain various records and forms.
Use sound judgment in recognizing scope of authority.
Operate and use modern office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Maintain regular attendance and adhere to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.
Utilize appropriate safety procedures and practices for assigned duties.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and effective manner.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Physical Demands Must be able to, on a continuous basis, sit or stand for long periods of time; intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone; write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; and lift or carry weight of 25 pounds or less.
Hourly employees are enrolled in PARS (PARS- Public Alternate Retirement System).
All Hourly/Seasonal employees contribute 6.
2% each pay period and the City contributes 1.
3% each pay period into this plan.
The City complies with California Labor Code 245-249 by providing paid sick leave for part-time hourly employees at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
If an employee reaches 1,000 hours within a fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th), they are then enrolled in PERS (Public Employees Retirement System).
