The Program Coordinator holds the primary responsibility to develop, prepare and implement lessons and activities for members in 2nd-8th grade in the areas of math and sciences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop, prepare, and implement creative and engaging lesson plans and activities in the math and sciences for members in 2nd-8th grade * Provide an inclusive classroom environment for members with learning differences * Assist with member supervision during program hours, special events, and field trips * Monitor member progress and communicate with key stakeholders * Provide homework support * Assist with the implementation of assessments and analysis of data * Communicate and collaborate with program instructors, parents, guardians, and key school representatives as partners in the education of our members * Support and coordinate special enrichment activities * Assist with the development, preparation, and implementation of academic and non-academic lessons and activities for summer programming; this may include members from 2nd through 12th grade OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete administrative duties daily * Address member behavior appropriately, following the approach adopted by the agency * Comply with agency’s legal mandate to report suspicions of abuse * Assist with the supervision of members during program hours, special events, and field trips * Attend all required program and professional development meetings * Serve as a mentor and role model for our members * Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all time * Comply with agency’s legal mandate to report suspicions of abuse * Perform other tasks as assigned *Qualifications* To perform this important job successfully, the Program Coordinator must be able to fulfill all of the elements of the job description to the highest standard, and be able to work well with colleagues in a high energy, collaborative environment with open communication.

Technical and Performance Skills * Excellent Oral and Written Communication Professionalism * Customer Service * Time Management * Ability to multi-task * Flexibility *Education/Training/Experience* * Degree in education, teaching, math and/or sciences preferred * 1 + years experience working in academic setting * 1 + years experience working in an underserved community * Bilingual in Spanish is a plus *Physical and Mental Demands* * Able to work in a dynamic and high noise level environment typical of a youth center * Walking, standing required on daily basis * Sitting and use of hands/vision for computer work for extended periods of time * Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally * Able to communicate and convey accurate information *Additional Information* *APCH COVID-19 Vaccination Policy* All new hires must provide proof of their first dose of the vaccine on the first day of employment, if not fully vaccinated, and will have 30 days from their date of hire to complete their COVID-19 vaccination and submit proof of completion to the organization’s HR department.
All fully vaccinated staff are highly recommended to get their booster vaccine once eligible.
