This is a year round position, which includes additional hours when the program is out of session or out of program hours.
All program staff are expected to be available to work year round, including when the program is not in session or out of program hours.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Supervision of a group of up to 4 children.
* Planning and implementation of curriculum, family events, etc.
* Lead Education Specialist for an age group/classroom.
* Basic site cleaning and upkeep.
* Communicating with co-workers and parents in a professional manner.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
* (Option 1) 12 semester units in ECE or CD or
* (Option 2) Associate, Teacher, or Master Teacher Child Development Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and
* 3 of these units must be a Infant or Toddler course with a grade of C or better.
*General Qualifications:*
* Age eighteen years or older
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 6 months previous experience working with children in a group setting.
* Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
* Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
* Strong character values (respect, responsibility, honesty, caring); strong communication skills; emotional maturity
* Immunization & Physical: Current TB, influenza, pertussis, and measles vaccinations and physical exam
* Upon hire, the Influenza Immunization may be declined by written declaration.
* Must clear a background check including live scan, reference checks, etc.
*Mandatory Training & Certifications:*
* EMSA approved Infant, Child and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid (Within 60 days of hire)
* Completion of Rising Stars Academy Workplace Harassment online training
* California Child Care Preventative Health and Safety Training (Within 60 days of hire)
* Other training, as required for the position
