Since 2017, Golden Academy has been devoted to providing high-quality preschool and childcare services in South Los Angeles.
As teachers and caregivers, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, stimulating, and encouraging.
Golden Academy is looking to add a dedicated, skilled, and caring toddler/preschool teacher.
The Toddler/Preschool Teacher is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for Toddlers and/or Preschool children.
The Teacher will develop a curricula program with the goal of developing kindergarten readiness skills.
The Teacher will maintain effective communication with parents, coworkers, supervisor, and others.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Perform the business duties in accordance with Golden Academy Employee Handbook and Title 5, Education Code: Section 8350, Preventive Health and Safety Regulations, Early Head Start Performance Standards, and Title 22 Regulations.
* Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program * Plan and design the daily classroom program based on Creative Curriculum and implement STEM as a tool in alignment within the learning framework to support children’s portfolios, narratives, and DRDP tech.
* Help serve and clean up snacks and meals * Ensure and actively supervise children at all times in the classroom and on the playground * Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times * Maintain a sanitary safe environment for toddlers and preschoolers by cleaning, sanitizing, organizing, moving toys and equipment, trash removal, and sweeping.
* Comfort children, establish routines and provide positive guidance, clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand.
* Communicate with parents positively to ensure positive interactions with child/parent at all times.
* Keep parents informed of program expectations, program actives, and their child's progress.
* Computer Skills are required; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with using educational software and apps for young children; Basic knowledge of internet usage and email communication.
*QUALIFICATIONS* * Child Development Associate's Degree (Preferred but not required) * Teacher Permit from State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing OR 24 Units ECE/CD including core courses plus 16 Units in General Education (Must show proof of original transcripts) * Must have 6 Infant/Toddler Development/Study College Units * Pediatric CPR and First Aide (preferred but can also be obtain if hired) * Current Immunizations/ Negative TB Test.
*WORKING CONDITIONS* * The teacher is to lift/ carry 50lbs occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
* The teacher is required mobility and strength to repeatedly sit, stand, carry toddlers, balance, stop, walk, bend, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, and a full range of body motions.
* Required to work in a busy and occasionally noisy environment *Working Hours* This position offers flexible working hours, with the possibility of part-time or full-time work.
We are open to discussing specific schedules that work for both the employee and the company.
