Spanish Bilingual Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY:
The Dental Assistant (DA) will be responsible for overseeing the operation of patient intake, support dentists, and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment.
He/she will work closely with dentists in providing chair-side care and will assist in the performance of dental and radiography procedures.
This person will also assist with front office duties including clinic reception and medical record keeping when necessary.
He/She must be experienced in all procedures of dental assistance with clinical and administrative knowledge.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum High School diploma.
Dental Assistant Certificate.
Current First Aid / CPR certification.
Dental Radiation and Safety Compliance Certificate.
Registered Dental Assistant License (Preferred).
Minimum 6 months of related experience.
Knowledge of filing procedures and practices.
Demonstrated ability to exchange pertinent non-routine information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to use tact, discretion, and sensitivity when interacting with patients.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in community clinic environment a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides chair-side assistance to the dentist in the performance of dental procedures.
Ensures that appropriate equipment and supplies are prepared.
Oversees and coordinates patient flow throughout the dental visit.
Takes radiographic films and study model impressions.
Demonstrates knowledge in procedures for taking films and impressions.
Keeps equipment in working order.
Arranges all dental instruments for tray set-ups and mobile cabinets.
Sterilizes and disinfects equipment according to OSHA, CDC, and Kheir Standards.
Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and outreaches as necessary.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations.
Maintains harmonious relationship with unit/co-worker, providing support and assistance to co-workers to ensure quality patient care.
Follows established Kheir policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety and environmental and infection control guidelines.
Practices confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Assists with dental inventory control.
Performs other duties as assigned.
