Technician provides technical and support services in the area of diagnostic and interventional Electrophysiology.
Provides scrub or monitor assistance to the electrophysiologist.
Has ability to trouble shoot connectivity on Electrophysiology systems including mapping and recording systems.
Essential Duties:
Assists with monitoring during cath lab cases
Helps prep patients prior to start of procedures
Assists RN’s with a variety of tasks (i.
e.
chart maintenance, monitoring patients and maintaining safety, transport patients, obtaining supplies and communication with other disciplines related to patient flow)
Maintains patient charts: mobilizes the significant past patient information to assist the staff with the patient’s current health needs.
Provides administrative, clerical, and patient care / procedural support for the Cardiovascular Department.
Prepare, processes and distributes reports and other related documents.
Collaborate with the respective coordinators, physicians and technical staff to organize and maintain an effective operation.
Maintains patient charts: mobilizes the significant past patient information to assist the staff with the patient’s current health needs.
Assists departmental staff and the Department Director with clinical or clerical tasks as assigned.
Knowledge of the in house computer systems: AS 400, On Demand, Easy Web and EPF.
Bills all Cardiovascular procedures.
Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department as requested.
Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative service oriented relationships with patients, public and other members of the healthcare team.
Provides a clean, safe environment for patients and visitors.
Schedules procedures for the department in collaboration with other staff members.
Participates in inventory control in collaboration with the Department Director.
Participates in database management in collaboration with clinical staff and the Department Director.
Participates in department Performance Improvement work team projects.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served in his/her assigned unit.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Req High school or equivalent
Req 2 years Acute care Electrophysiology Lab
Req Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pref 1 year Unit secretary experience.
Pref 1 year Experience in an acute hospital, outpatient department or Physician’s office
Pref Previous medical training (CVT, CNA, EMT, PT aide or enrolled in a nursing program.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.

Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
The hourly rate range for this position is $28.
