SHIELDS’ mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.
Adult Mental Health provides behavioral health services to single adults or adult parents.
SHIELDS offers behavioral health as a component of the SUD services, family services, and child welfare services we offer.
Any participants in a SHIELDS program can additionally enroll in Adult Mental Health.
Additionally, SHIELDS registers walk-ins or those referred from the community.
SHIELDS provides services through the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC); SCLARC is a comprehensive resource for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, advocacy, and support for people diagnosed with developmental disabilities.
SHIELDS also provides Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) for individuals with a severe mental illness.
Finally, SHIELDS delivers behavioral health services through CalWORKS.
The Clinical Coordinator provides supervision and clinical support for therapists and case managers.
Coordinates clinical support services to participants to assist with goal setting, linkages and referral resources.
Monitors team members work, performs administrative and supervisory duties to include billing, Q.

May represent Mental Health Administration and/or Management at community meetings.
Responsibilities:
· Review weekly documentation and provide appropriate feedback to staff.
· Participate in the development of performance evaluations.
· Facilitate the handling of staff disciplinary actions in coordination with the Program Manager.
· Maintain strong working knowledge of crisis intervention and individual counseling, documentation, psychiatric intern supervision, and multicultural and socio-economic issues.
· Consult with staff on case problems and legal/ethical issues.
· Responsible for providing clinical documentation training to new staff in the program.
· Plan, develop, and participate in staff development and other staff training activities.

· Responsible for on-going communication/collaboration with the SHIELDS QA Department.
· Network with peers in other community service agencies to share ideas and resources, develop effective programs, solve common problems and maintain a professional network of referral sources for child welfare services.
· The employee in this position may supervise a total of up to 12 Masters level, license eligible team members.
· May act as a backup representative for SHIELDS in the absence of the Program Manager.

Requirements:
· Master’s level, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness and substance use disorders in a social service environment.
· Licensed LMFT or LCSW required
· Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
· LPS authorization required.
· COVID-19 vaccination required.
