Title: Assistant Controller

Total Compensation: $90,000-$115,000

Business Impact Own project accounting including invoicing, revenue and expense reconciliation and accruals, and budget to actual analyses Execute daily cash management by completing reconciliations of all incoming and outgoing cash Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting Prepare month-end closing entries and reconciliations.
Create monthly and quarterly reporting packages Analyze and report on budget variances.
Collaborate with the CFO on annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Serve as a liaison to external auditors, prepare annual audit package.
Coordinate and complete various monthly and annual tax returns (excise tax returns, personal property tax returns, business license calculations) Complete various ad hoc reporting and analysis requests Team Impact Delegate accounting tasks to accounting team.
Coordinate with and prepare reports for CFO and upper management Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed Supervise accounting staff Lead and encourage direct reports to accomplish personal, team, and company goals Provide clear expectations of work performance, and regularly provide positive and constructive feedback to help direct reports reach their full potential in their roles Identify training and growth development needs for direct reports and create learning plans with clear goals and timelines for completion Client Impact Play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our client relationships by ensuring seamless communication and delivering exceptional service at every touchpoint What You Have: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA a plus) 5-7 years' experience overseeing complex finance functions with increasing responsibility Great eye for detail, excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, sound judgement Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills Deep knowledge of accounting principles and policies including accruals and revenue recognition Experience with budgets, forecasting, and reporting on key financial metrics Experience managing various levels of staff and interacting with all levels of company management Advanced excel skills are required This position is currently based out of our downtown LA office and travel to the office will be expected on an infrequent, but regular basis What We Offer: We are premium.
