*REQUIRED:*
*Education and Work Experience: *
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field; and three years of work experience in non-profit industry with one year in the area of computerized accounting setup and report writing.
*Knowledge and Skills: *
* Knowledge of Non-Profit fund accounting is a must.
* Knowledge of federal, state, county, city contractual invoicing is a must
* Understanding of cost centers and allocating costs
* Ability to work in fast-paced, high energy environment
* Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, manage time, meet deadlines and perform duties under time constraints
* Ability to work independently and with others – including other employees, clients and members of the public in face-to-face and telephonic contexts

* Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, properly registered vehicle and insurance
*PREFERRED:*
* Prior experience invoicing for a non-profit agency

*POSITION OVERVIEW:*
The Staff Accountant prepares accounting information to assist in producing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the agency.
*PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: *
* Prepares and records deposits and cash receipts in the accounting system.
* Prepares schedules as directed
* Review Accounts Payable prior to posting
* Assists with monthly funder invoicing.
* Assists with Audits
* Reconciles ledger accounts on a monthly basis
* Enters journal entries as needed
* Provide back-up to Senior Accountant, as needed
* Implements and consistently practices harm reduction, trauma-informed care, housing first, and integrated care interventions.
* Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, utilizing professional, open, and respectful communication.
Maintains a solution-focused, strengths-based, and client centered approach with managers, co-workers and clients of organisation.
* Complies and maintains familiarity with agency and program policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
* Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, and special projects to promote professional development.
* Models organization's approach, mission and core values in all communication, correspondence, community events, coalitions and advocacy efforts.
* Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
