ROLE SUMMARY
The position of the Personal Banker I-II is to perform a variety of duties in promoting and selling bank deposit products to new and existing customers, opening, and processing all types of new accounts.
Additionally, this role is to promote business for the Bank by maintaining quality customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services, all while ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties include making decisions regarding the opening of new accounts:
Advise customers on bank services for their needs (e.
g.
loans and credit cards)
Manage customer bank accounts; open, close and oversee transactions.
Resolve issues with banking services and accounts.
Refer clients to inhouse financial experts, as needed.
Assigns account numbers.
Prepares all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts, and certificates of deposit for processing.
Completes forms requiring customer signature(s).
Establishes proper identification of new customers and determines need and extent of reference investigation.
May gather data and process various reports (e.
g.
, currency transaction, returned items, overdrafts, callbacks, etc.
)
May perform safe deposit duties by controlling access, assisting customers and processing affiliated reports.
May perform teller duties as directed: Processes client transactions as requested, ensuring that all necessary documents are properly authorized, in proper form, within authorized limit, and completed accurately.
Assists with night depository duties such as logging bags, processing deposits, making change orders, and issuing receipts & return bags to customers.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Education/Experience:
High school, or general education degree.
Intermediate knowledge of bank operations, bank products, and banking regulations.
Basic knowledge of personal computer operations, including related software programs.
Minimum 2 years’ experience involving new accounts/customer service in a financial services environment.
