Position: Staff Accountant

Pay Range: $66,560-$75,000
*Overall job purpose or summary of the job*
This position is primarily responsible for preparation, analysis and reviewing US financial statements using accounting principles, ensuring accuracy in line with Audit requirements and financial control across the various ledgers and within the business.
*Essential functions of the job:*
* Work closely with the Head of US Finance on all aspects of accounting requirements.
* Maintain General Ledgers in accordance with Audit reporting requirements.
* In line with the group timetable, prepare monthly management accounts including journal entries and bank reconciliations as well as reconciliation of various schedules such as balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
* Work with the Head of US Finance on the collection of budgets and forecasts.
* Ensure the daily finance activities are completed in a timely manner and in line with company controls and procedures.
* Ensure financial controls are completed in a timely manner and in line with company policies.
* Maintain the revenue and expenditure reconciliation for any large events.
* Work on preparation of audit, review packages, and play an essential part in the completion of audit testing.
* Coordinate accounting matters with UK and Australia finance teams as required.
* Process payment runs as required.
* Review Tax filings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance and liaise with external Tax related stakeholders.
* Complete ad hoc projects within finance (including system enhancements).
* Adhere to PCI regulations in accordance with Company policy.
*Education, experience and skills*
* An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
* Travel industry experience preferred.
* 2 + years of experience as a Staff Accountant required
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Working knowledge of Accounting Software Packages and ability to learn new systems and software quickly
* Strong accounting and analytical skills
* Must be organized and detail oriented
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment, to work in a pressurized and demanding environment, to work to agreed deadlines and be able to prioritize workload
* Ability to work independently or within a team environment
* High attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude
* Ability to accept instructions or directions and see through to completion and multitask
