Job Description About the role: The Los Angeles Fractionation Expansion (LAFE) Manufacturing Associate Manager is responsible for all LAFE project activities related to Manufacturing.
This includes Manufacturing assessments, planning, OCM, documents review and approval, Creation of Manufacturing procedures (SOPs) and Training curriculum for LAFE operators.
They will also be responsible for Scheduling project activities such as Engineering, PPQ, CV, and production runs.
LAFE Associate Manager will support building the LAFE manufacturing team and manage operations by supervising daily activities to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met by the commitment date while maintaining compliance with the current manufacturing practices (cGMPs), Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that could apply.
They are expected to drive results to support plant strategic imperatives.
They will set an appropriate example for other employees of Takeda.
They must promote the appropriate behavior, compliance, cleanliness, and culture of Takeda, including decision making based on patient, trust, reputation, then business.
How you will contribute: Responsibilities Project Phase Responsible for Managing all activities supporting the development and production of LAFE in Building 5, ensuring all manufacturing goals are met.
Manufacturing document creation/review/approvals.
May be assigned leadership roles for larger scope operational projects, such as shutdown and startup and new facilities or processes.
Champion DMAIC tools for problem solving for issues that may affect safety, quality, yield, or throughput in Building 5.
Production phase Responsible for supervising production related activities throughout Building 5 to ensure manufacturing goals are met.
Act as a leader in the building as a point of escalation across all shifts for assigned cell, who then coordinates with support groups to adhere to the production schedule, minimize delay, and meet weekly Building 5 output targets.
Facilitate and verify appropriate training is assigned and completed on time for all employees on the shift (including but not limited to cGMPs, job skills, safety, etc.
).
Identify, lead, and implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement in Building 5.
Ensure 100% compliance with established department procedures and regulations in producing high quality therapeutic products.
Drive performance with employees by providing a positive and equitable work environment emphasizing respect, responsiveness, and results, as well as, utilizing the talent management process.
Be present at the shift transition with the outgoing shift supervisor(s) as well as ensure proper shift transition/communication to the next incoming shift.

Must be familiar with all areas within B5 Manufacturing.
Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and information including financial reports Ability to understand and resolve technical problems and interface with engineering/technical experts to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting Education and experience Typically requires bachelor's degree in science, engineering or other related technical field and 5+ years of related experience.

Physical Demands Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 pounds.
In general, you will have a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
Work Environment Will work in controlled environments requiring special gowning.
