We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Territory Sales Account Manager to help us expand our reach and build strong relationships with food distributors.
*Responsibilities:* *Territory Management:* * Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.
* Identify and prioritize target clients among food distributors in the assigned region.
*Requirements:* * Safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights.
* Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking, for extended periods and maintain the necessary physical dexterity and coordination.
* Work in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels.
*Client Relationship Building:* * Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with food distributors and key decision-makers.
* Understand the unique needs and preferences of each client and tailor offerings to their requirements.
* Constantly get an understanding of and communicate within the team the trade factors, market and supply information to add to our collective ‘pulse’ of constantly evolving developments in the North American Seafood marketplace.
* Develop strong relationships with our customers * Follow the sale through to delivery to the customer, including freight and logistics problem solving and communication.
* Manage communication around receivables and payment terms with customers.
*Product Knowledge:* * Develop an in-depth understanding of our premium food products, including their origin, quality, and culinary applications.
* Effectively communicate the value and unique selling points of our products to clients.
* Develop an understanding of the products and be a good advocate for the products and brands that we represent.
*Sales Strategy:* * Create and implement sales strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth.
* Collaborate with the sales team to develop pricing and promotional strategies.
* New business development work in reaching out to and establishing new accounts in a constantly evolving industry.
While the bulk of the sales focus is on developing our strong existing customer base we are looking for someone who has the skills and more importantly the drive to ‘hunt’ for new opportunities.
*Negotiation and Sales Closure:* * Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both the company and clients.
* Manage contract negotiations and facilitate smooth transactions.
*Market Analysis:* * Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics.
* Provide regular market feedback and insights to the company to refine product offerings.
*Reporting:* * Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market data.
* Generate regular sales reports for management and performance assessment.
* Regular communication with customers on upcoming orders, new products to develop and confirmation of logistics and pricing.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Proven track record in B2B sales, with experience in selling premium food products to food distributors being a significant advantage.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Understanding of the culinary industry and premium food products, preferred * Ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
* Results-driven, self-motivated, and target-oriented.
* Bachelor's degree or or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Prior food service, logistics and/or sales background preferred * Commitment to excellence and high standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
* Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
* Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
* Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
* Must be a self-starter and proactive.
* Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
* Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
* Proficient in Excel & CRM systems with some knowledge of ERP systems would be ideal.
