Responsible professional seeking 1 year+ private room or private quarters, beginning June 1st.
Budget is $1500 max for a studio / granny flat, and around $1250 for a private room.
Open to a 3 - 6 month agreement if it's the right fit while I continue to search for a long term "home".
Open to long term as well is that's what you're looking for and it works out!
** NOT interested in unconventional housing arrangements or free rent in exchange for anything salacious.
About me :
I am a woman under 35, a journalist and work in advertising and the film industry.
I write for an entertainment magazine, work a day job, and host a podcast interviewing Actors who were popular in the 20th Century, in efforts to preserve history.
I'm also finishing up my first book, and I create content on social media inspiring others with life, career and motivating advice.
Suffice to say, all of this keeps me very busy and doesn't impede on the home environment.
Most of my work is done outside the house.
I have an indoor male (neutered and vaxxed) cat, he's 3 years old and very shy around others.
His litter box and food can be in my room if preferred.
He is not aggressive with other animals or anyone, just shy and hides around them.
Previous landlords / roommates have said they hardly knew they had a roommate when I lived there -- I'm always either fairly quiet or not home.
When I am home, I'm mostly in my room writing or working on something if not watching a movie or sleeping.
I keep my spaces clean and always pick up after myself.
I happily contribute to household items (paper towels, toilet paper, etc), and I don't mind making extra food for you when I cook :) Can provide past living/landlord references if needed.
I rarely drink or smoke 420 but do on occasion and mostly went out socially (never cigarettes), and I live a healthy / active lifestyle.
Up early, in bed around midnight -- I work out, eat clean, and generally try to be a good person.
I'm pretty laid back and respectful of all types of lifestyles and beliefs.
When not working, I like to go out with friends to films (New Beverly and The Vista are favorite theaters), art gallery events, concerts, hiking, the beach, or out to dinner / a good cocktail.
I don't bring the party home.
Ideally I'm looking for a roommate who would like to co-exist in a peaceful and healthy environment -- while respecting one another's separate lives and space.
It's important home be a place to unwind from the world, and I'm looking for that type of atmosphere.
I'm easy to talk to and tend to have a pretty calm and optimistic personality.
I live to create and have been lucky to start making that my career.
Some interests in films / books / music (to get a better sense) include : Frank Sinatra (music), Bob Dylan (music), Hunter S.
Thompson (author), Ernest Hemingway (author).
A few films I love are Casablanca, Rebel without a Cause, Annie Hall, Goodfellas, Lost in Translation, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
