Bass Player Wanted 40-60 Years Old Influenced By British Blues: John McVie (Bluesbreakers, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Era), John Paul Jones, Jack Bruce (Cream Era) , Paul Samwell Smith.
1965-69 Due to illness the band's bass player has stood down: if you love the music we love and are interested in a spot in a British power trio this may be an opportunity for you.
You do not have to be British, but you must understand the British style of bassists cited and provide recordings of you playing in this style.
Must be OK with the requirements of a power trio such as improvisation and understand that less is more sometimes.
This is a band that puts the dirt and energy back into British blues so you must be ready for those exciting demands.
To continue power trio as per The Yardbirds, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin One, Cream, John Mayall's Beano Bluesbreakers, Free.
We have guitar/vocals and drums, bass player is the final part of the trio.
This group is for the love of the British Blues niche, not a paying gig.
There is no money in music anymore.
Must have car and be able to rehearse in Mid Wilshire area on Friday evenings for 3-4 hours.
The band released an all original album just prior to lockdown which has received much independent airplay in the UK as well as the BBC.
Three independent blues stations in England named the album their Album Of The Year 2020.
Also, independent broadcasters in the US have given the album critical acclaim.
The band covers British Blues, British Blues rock, rockabilly, jazz and psychedelic jam elements.
The band is moving back to playing these songs live (lock down deprived us of the chance to play the album live) plus a few covers performed our way, so I am looking for the right person to make this happen.
The band aims to record a second all original album also after playing the first album live.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in please contact us.
In the words of independent broadcasters: "Hard, loud, rough, dirty, British blues.
The more I listen to it, the more I love it! "Occasionally I get sent some music that just grabs you by the kahunas and really kicks you hard in your back side, and that is this band's music.
One of the most exciting albums I've heard in 2020 and for many years".
