*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer
* Works as GLAD’s Custodian of Records for the Department of Justice and maintains records of employment-related materials and personnel files
* Using GLAD’s HR portal, administers all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and pension plans
* Oversees HR staff in the processing of payroll for all employees, advertisements and recruitments, hiring/onboarding of new employees, and preparation of reports
* Processes employee offboarding including final pay warrants
* Prepares job announcements, duty statements, and all employment-related correspondence
* Assists in the maintenance, administration, and development of personnel policies and the Employee Handbook
* Processes annual census reports for pension plans
* Maintains directors and officers liability and workers compensation insurance policies
* Performs such tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated by the CEO.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Bachelor's degree with a focus on Human Resources or the equivalent.
Human Resources training is desirable.
* Must have knowledge of standard personnel policies and procedures, labor laws, and other related guidelines.
* Be knowledgeable of performance evaluation systems and laws related to appraisals.
* Minimum of three years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.
* Fluency in American Sign Language and knowledge of deaf culture is required.
* Must work independently, take initiative, maintain accuracy, and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to handle personal details, data and other private information is paramount.
Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
* Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, sometimes with competing deadlines.
* Must maintain a cooperative relationship with co-employees, directors, outside vendors and brokers, community members, other agencies and the CEO.
