About the Position Position Highlights: As a Director of Clinical Training, you'll be a key member of our Applied Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program, overseeing students' practicum and internship experiences while ensuring compliance with rigorous ethical standards set by the American Psychological Association and the competencies articulated by The National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
Your focus will be on delivering the highest quality training that aligns with our commitment to diversity, exceptional supervision, and broad professional practice opportunities.
Collaborating closely with training site supervisors and academic program advisors, you'll contribute to shaping the next generation of experts in the field.
PRINICIPAL DUTIES Your Impact: Guiding Excellence: Lead the training for PsyD students, developing and delivering impactful coursework that aligns with clinical training.
Network Expansion: Cultivate and nurture relationships with practicum sites, both on-site and through remote interactions, creating a robust network of training opportunities.
Student Empowerment: Assist students in selecting suitable practicum and internship sites, reviewing application materials, and monitoring their progress.
Support and Remediation: Offer guidance and remediation strategies for students facing challenges during their practicum and internship journey.
Training Advocacy: Communicate and advocate for best practices and training-related policies to both students and faculty, keeping everyone informed and engaged.
Strategic Collaboration: Contribute to departmental strategic planning and quality improvement efforts, playing a vital role in shaping our programs' future.
Qualifications that Stand Out: Expertise: Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, with a license as a Clinical Psychologist.
Driving Force: Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a car for site visits.
Pedagogical Prowess: Demonstrated experience in graduate-level student supervision and teaching.
Progressive Thinking: Strong understanding of best practices in clinical training.
Communication Mastery: Ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
