Position: *FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR*
Result Statement: Produce and manage the accurate, timely tracking of all financial data and perform / administer all financial services of Saint Sophia Cathedral Greek Orthodox Community (the “*Cathedral*”) (which includes the Huffington Center and all Cathedral operations).
Position Reporting: This position reports directly to the Cathedral Dean and the Parish Council Treasurer and President.
Administration: The Financial Administrator will work in collaboration with the Cathedral Administrative Director and Executive Director of the Huffington Center.
Strategic Work Listing: 1.
Contribute to Cathedral policies and procedures, including manuals, as needed to maintain an efficient accounting department, and financial controls (a) to prevent mistakes or the misuse of funds, (b) to administer authorizations and approvals, (c) maintain proper documentation and the physical security of net assets, and (d) to provide protection from liability for the Dean, management and the Parish Council; 2.
Create financial projections to drive Cathedral’s ministerial and strategic objectives; 3.
Prepare each year’s budget with input from the Dean, Administrative Director, Huffington Center Committee, the Treasurer and President of the Parish Council; 4.
Provide oversight of accounting for all matters of the Cathedral, Huffington Center and Cathedral Ministries; 5.
Ensure all billings are paid on time and receivables are met within NET 30; 6.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical analysis of stewardship and pledges and comparing with the previous years’ stewardship reports; 7.
Assist the Cathedral’s elected auditors to examine the Cathedral’s financial statements and supporting documents; 8.
Issue reports that the Auditors require; and 9.
Assist in Metropolis and Archdiocesan reporting requirements.
Background & Experience 1.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in general ledger accounting.
2.
Well versed in GAAP accounting principles.
3.
A degree and/or certificates in accounting.
4.
Reconciliations of All Bank Accounts and Credit Card Accounts.
5.
Preparation of Annual Business Taxes and Licensing, and 1099’s.
6.
Provide monthly financial reports to Owner for review.
7.
Creation of memorized reports and transactions in QuickBooks.
8.
Generate Bi-Weekly Payroll through ADP (or Cathedral payroll vendor) and post to QuickBooks.
9.
Enter and Manage Cathedral Benefits including Health Insurance and 401K.
10.
On-boarding New Vendors and manage their Insurance Compliance.
11.
Uploading of Vendor Invoices into QuickBooks for processing.
12.
Purchase Cathedral materials and supplies.
13.
Respond to Vendor Inquiries 14.
Answer phones and perform special projects as needed.
