Provide high quality management and support for the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts' collections, exhibitions, and curatorial projects.
Responsible for daily management and oversight of the Grunwald Center collection of works on paper as well as the Armand Hammer Permanent Collection, the Armand Hammer Daumier and Contemporaries Collection, and the Murphy Sculpture Garden.
Conducts research on the collection and responds to research requests; organizes and oversees class visits to the study center; oversees reinstallations of the permanent collection galleries; and coordinates exhibitions organized by the Grunwald Center Director and Chief Curator.
The Curatorial Assistant also assists with online collection projects as needed, and co-organizes an annual fall seminar using works from the collection for advanced UCLA undergraduate students.
Develop, research, plan, and oversee complex exhibitions, collections projects, programs and events under the direction of lead curators.
Carefully and thoughtfully organize all aspects of exhibitions and projects including initiations, approvals, budgets, contracts, correspondence, travel/hospitality, logistics/technical requirements, communications, visitor experience, artist relationships, documentation, and other details as appropriate.

Required/Preferred
2 to 3 years (Assistant) or 4 to 5 years (Associate) of experience and excellent skills in curatorial (or related field) program support.
Required
MA in Art History; with an emphasis on works on paper, prints, or drawings or equivalent to education and experience.
Required
Knowledge of the history of European and American prints and drawings from the Renaissance through the present, as well as related art history, criticism and theory.
Required
Working knowledge of at least one foreign language, preferably French or German.

Prior museum, gallery, or art collection experience and knowledge of high caliber art operations, standards, practices, and procedures.

Proven curatorial research skills and experience.

Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, editing, and proofreading; demonstrated ability to compose routine business correspondence with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
