An Assistant Site Coordinator will naturally possess a positive, professional disposition to help our school sites run effectively, be solutions-oriented and willing to pitch in where necessary to keep our school site on track to achieve organizational goals.
Essential Functions:
Assist in managing the logistics and operations of an arc after school program by being the secondary point of contact and act as a liaison for parents, teachers, administration, students and staff
Interact and foster positive relationships with students to ensure that all students feel welcomed to the program
Assist in managing attendance tracking by monitoring that all staff properly take attendance for programs and that attendance records are in compliance with arc's requirements
Write and execute age appropriate lesson plans for enrichment activities to students in the program
Organize new programs for students that focus on cultural and ethnic diversity, social justice advocacy, and service learning.
In the absence of or by the request of the Site Coordinator, will supervise all activities that occur during the after school program
Support academic learning by implementing California standards based curriculum objectives in after school program components (EX: tutoring, credit recovery, hands on learning clubs)
Assist in developing supply orders for the program site
Complete, submit, and file necessary paperwork for the after school program mandated by both arc and the district including but not limited to student rosters, student enrollment forms, emergency contact forms, calendars, etc.
Assist in completing tasks related to managing a team of staff such as providing feedback for performance evaluations and address performance issues with the guidance from the Site Coordinator
Assist in marketing and recruiting campaigns to ensure the after school program site meets organizational attendance goals.
Assist in creating monthly calendars, newsletters, parent boards, information corners that share information about the program
Assist in training staff members on after school programming best practices during an employee's entire employment cycle at arc
Will be required to assume leadership of the program site, manage staff, and logistics at the request of the Site Coordinator or in absence of the Site Coordinator
Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to educating and empowering youth to reach their fullest potential
Have the ability to work with groups of 20 or more students
Have knowledge of age appropriate classroom and behavior management skills
Required to attend arc and district led trainings.
May be required to commute to the home office or district office for meetings

Commitment to working toward the common goal of helping to provide exceptional experiential education to underserved young people at our various programs
Solid after school programming skills garnered from 2+ years of relevant experience
Staff development skills acquired from at least 1-2 years in a leadership role
Availability to work programming hours that range between 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM; ability to report to work earlier to accomodate program schedule
Experience working with students
Experience working in after school programs or youth recreational facilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities
Desire to work outdoors with students
Willingness to work occasional early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
Bilingual preferred

The Assistant Site Coordinator is a non-exempt position.
This position reports directly to the Site Coordinator of the school site they are placed at.
