In the Los Angeles area, Parsec provides services at the Union Pacific LATC Terminal and operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
Driver / Groundman: Los Angeles, CA Pay Rate: $19.
50 - $23.
00/hr.
(Weekly Pay) Starting pay for the Driver/Groundman position is $19.
50 per hour which increases to $20.
50 per hour after six (6) months and $23.
00 per hour after one year of service.
Summary: Employees will train at the entry-level Groundman position for a minimum of two weeks.
Groundmen are responsible for directing crane operators who are loading and unloading cargo containers from railcars.
Groundmen are also responsible for preparing railcars for loading and unloading by removing and installing IBC locks.
Employees will also be trained in the Hostler Driver position.
Drivers perform a variety of driving tasks, including hauling containers from the rail track to other areas of the intermodal yard for outside driver pickup, moving chassis, and moving containers about the intermodal yard in a safe and efficient manner.
This position is unionized and after a 120-day probation period, you will become a union member.
Must have open availability to work any needed shift and weekends.
Employees are subject to a shift change every six months.
The following schedules are seniority-based: Shift 1: 12:00 AM-8:30 AM Shift 3: 4:00 PM-12:30 AM Once certified as a driver, mandatory overtime is given based on operational demand.
