Position Summary: The School Age Youth Bus Driver is responsible for the supervision, safety and transportation of children enrolled in all YMCA school age programs, and for the care and maintenance of YMCA vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED, undergraduate degree preferred.
At least 18 years old.
Minimum of three years experience working with children.
Current Class B license with a P Passenger Endorsement, Youth Bus Certificate, and proven record of good driving experience (H6 record form from DMV).
Physicians release of current DOT Physical.
Mandatory clearance through California Department of Motor Vehicles.
Minimum one year experience driving children/youth in a school bus.
Certification requirements include, within 30 days of hire, CPR/AED and First Aid; Child Abuse Prevention.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate with parents, coworkers, campers and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise indoor and outdoor program activities; ability to tolerate moderate to high noise levels; verbal, visual and auditory ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.

SAFETY & RISK MANAGEMENT: Adheres to all safety policies, rules and standard operating procedures established by the YMCA.
Reports all injuries and accidents, no matter how minor, immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
Immediately reports all observed unsafe acts and conditions to the supervisor.
Always reports to work in an acceptable condition, not under the influence of any substance that could inhibit the ability to work safety or efficiently.
