Testimonials:
"M is more than a photography teacher, he is an instructor, he is a mentor.
He is invested in your growth and success.
It’s important to him that you understand not only the technical aspects of shooting, but also the composition, light and how the subject is connecting with the lens.
He taught me the importance of communicating with the client, even before the shoot, and how best to get a shot that is authentic and one that allows their personality to come through.
He was always just a phone call away and generous with his time and attention.
M doesn’t just teach you how to take a shot, and in my case a headshot, he teaches you how to be a photographer and he helps you to not only understand the importance of connecting, but guiding you through moment to moment on how to be present and connect with whomever you are photographing.
He made sure I knew how to talk to a prospective client, suggest the best clothing for a shoot, find a makeup artist, instruct how to pose, and select the best shots taken.
He even helped me choose images for my website and sincerely cared about the little things including the order of them being presented!
He is a support, a teacher, a mentor and a friend and instructs and educates you in every aspect that is important to being not only a headshot and portrait photographer, but a photographer and caring human being during the process.
He has great passion, concern and patience for the process and only wants to get you to a place where you can stand on your own and take shots with integrity and talent.

"Let me start off by saying I didn’t know much about photography.
I didn’t even know how to take a good picture with my phone.
I obtained a used camera and tried to take some pics and they were horrible.
I asked around to get help but no one had the time or really knew what they were doing.
I then tried some YouTube videos but was was still confused and I had questions, lots of questions.
I then found M.
What a blessing that was! I reached out to him and he responded quickly and told me what he does and how he teaches, things he would teach me etc.
I asked him if maybe I needed just a better camera.
Kindly and politely, he said “It's not the camera!” Lol.
Definitely a very true statement for any aspiring photographer.
I prefer to learn things in person so I met M for a first class and it was eye-opening.
So many things I was doing wrong.
We started with the basics and I took a lot of notes.
It's important to go every week in the beginning to maintain knowledge and practice.
I learned a lot of technical things like ISO, Shutter Speed, F-stop/aperture, photoshop, Lightroom, what kind of equipment I should have, etc.
and how and when to use them.
I also learned a lot of non-technical things like composition, framing, emotion, relating to people, contracts and what makes a good picture along with so many other things.
He gives you assignments to do and trust me, just do them! It will all relate later and make you a better photographer.
He then reviews your assignment.
M will definitely let you know what you did wrong in a very respectful way and help you to understand what do do better.
This was great for me since I wanted to do it right.
I am a car enthusiast/lover so that’s what I wanted to shoot at first, but thanks to M, I feel confident shooting anything- including people, objects, portraits, landscape, etc.
I like taking pictures of everything now!
I learned far more than I anticipated and it really boosted my confidence.
I went from a super amateur to a semi- professional because of M! I still have more to learn and will continue to practice, but I couldn’t have made it happen without M.
