I was trained as a documentary photographer who never dreamed of going to Hollywood until I found myself living here.
The kind of fly-on-the-wall style of photography that I practice ended up getting me into some facinating places.
Movie sets, tour buses, after hours clubs and backstages.
To have a camera in your hand in these situations means somebody really trusts you, otherwise you wouldn’t be there.
That trust is at the heart of my photography.
My grandfather was a doctor who used to say “The best tool a doctor can have is a good bedside manner”, and I have taken this to heart as a photographer.
There was an actress I photographed once for a movie poster.
A little while after the shoot she contacted me.
She said she was thinking, that she was pretty likely to be at apex of her beauty, and she’d like to take some pictures to remember this.
She said she had a friend with a nice house in the hills with great light.
I said OK.
It was a nice house, and the light was fantastic and the friend was cool and she great clothes and style.
It was a fun afternoon into evening, and the pictures prove it.
I’ve done sensual / intimate / pinup photography with full on beauty teams and glam squads at ridiculously expensive locations.
I have also made striking and evocative images on loading docks and motel parking lots.
The one thing that all of these shoots had in common is the environment of trust, comfort and playfulness that I bring along with my camera.

My standard rate is $100hr but project rates are also available when they make sense.
