Department Overview
Avigilon Alta (Formerly Openpath), a Motorola Solution's Company, is a leader within the access control industry.
Our access control solution makes businesses more secure with multi-factor authentication, enables a contactless entry experience and can be easily scaled and managed due to its cloud-based architecture.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing highly reliable software for our internally-designed embedded systems as well as hardware interface services in the linux environment.
Taking ownership of your code, including verification testing and writing documentation.
Developing new features and existing packages in Python and Golang that run as system services in Debian on ARM devices
Work with QA team to design, develop and execute test scripts for life cycle, unit and regression testing
Work cross functionally with mobile, backend, hardware and firmware teams to develop new products
Create and manage drivers for Linux based operating systems.
Implement and test security communications protocols
Work with customer support and other software teams as a technical resource for any customer issues and patch bugs as needed
Occasionally support firmware engineers with C code development in Zephyr RTOS
Support for internal and external manufacturing efforts for product quality control and bring up
Work with a truly unique and driven team that comes from a diverse background of different hardware and software roles.
Side conversations you'll encounter range from hacker cons and bluetooth exploits to flying airplanes and the finer points of Texas BBQ
Qualifications:
5+ years experience programming in C, or C++
Strong ability to analyze existing code and debug
Working knowledge of CICD workflows and basic implementation principles
Willingness to work autonomously
Highly organized, can juggle competing priorities and tasks
Familiarity with JIRA, Zendesk, and TestRail
Willing to learn and share your knowledge with others
Bachelors Degree
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.
