Created in 1993, LAHSA is a joint powers authority of the city and county of Los Angeles.
As the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care, we coordinate and manage over $800 million annually in federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness.
Under the direction of the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Matching Supervisor and in integral partnership with other members of the Systems Division and the Systems Components Division, the Countywide Matcher, Interim Housing (Countywide Matcher) facilitates access to Interim Housing opportunities throughout Los Angeles County.
The Countywide Matcher serves as a liaison with the Los Angeles County Health Agency to assist in the development and implementation of a Countywide Interim Housing access system.
The Countywide matcher also works with LAHSA’s IT and HMIS Departments to implement technological enhancements to improve interim housing matching.
The Countywide Matcher represents LAHSA and its role as the homeless system administrator for Los Angeles County.
Essential Job Functions In partnership with the Los Angeles County Health Agency (Department of Health Services (DHS), and Department of Mental Health (DMH), continually refine the interim housing access process for Los Angeles County.
Work with DHS and DMH to provide “air traffic control” to certain types of LAHSA funded interim housing.
This includes interim housing transfers, “step up” or “step down” placements, decompression efforts, and interim housing demobilization efforts.
Receive and track referrals and match interim housing referrals to various interim housing bed types including but not limited to bridge housing, A Bridge Home bed, Project Room Key beds, and other crisis housing beds as applicable.
Work collaboratively with LAHSA’s IT and HMIS Departments to implement technological enhancements to improve interim housing matching.
Support training and technical assistance to LAHSA-funded Interim Housing Providers, CES Participating Agencies, and CES Referring Agencies on the Interim Housing Referral Form and any other referral processes for accessing interim housing.
Observe and track the efficacy of new systems and processes, making recommendations for system changes and improvements, as necessary.
Facilitate referral and placement process discussions to improve system effectiveness and develop a plan to eliminate Interim Housing placement barriers.
Develop relationships with various stakeholders to enhance understanding of system issues.
Analyze and provide feedback as necessary.
Support for all elements of the Coordinated Entry System, as directed by supervisor.
