*Position Summary* The Program Coordinator for the Michelson Institute for Intellectual Property (MIIP) will report to the MIIP Sr.
Program Manager and be responsible for supporting the Sr.
Program Manager with fulfilling the initiative’s mandate to democratize access to IP education.
This position is best suited for a highly proactive professional who excels at written and verbal communication, possesses strong organizational and analytical skills, is detail-oriented, and has digital marketing experience, and thrives in collaborative work environments.
Applicants must have a strong interest in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
This position is currently remote and will move to a hybrid format.
Therefore, you must live within a commuting distance of Los Angeles.
*Overview of Role* The Michelson Institute for Intellectual Property (MIIP), a non-profit initiative of the Michelson 20MM Foundation, aims to empower the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs and creators with the knowledge needed to protect and commercialize their innovations.
MIIP was founded in 2016 by prolific medical inventor Dr.
Gary K.
Michelson.
Dr.
Michelson is the sole-named inventor on nearly 1000 patents worldwide, and is an inductee of the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Inventors.
To date, over 400 colleges and universities nationwide have incorporated MIIP resources, designed to offer foundational education on patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets, into their curricula and programs.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills, as well as strategic planning and project management experience.
An intrapreneurial mindset is a plus! *You will:* * Support the Sr.
Program Manager on projects as needed.
* Provide administrative oversight for projects and facilitate the delivery of required program services, as assigned.
* Document action items and next steps for calls with external stakeholders (as needed) * Serve as project manager for all marketing efforts, including content development, asset creation, and social media platform oversight, in coordination with our MarCom Department.
This includes oversight of select campaigns to advance program goals.
* You will collaborate with the Sr.
Program Manager and the MarCom Department to develop and support the implementation of marketing strategy, this includes managing contractors hired to support marketing efforts.
* Identify opportunities to strengthen operational capabilities and improve workflows, any changes must be approved in advance by the supervisor * For example, ensuring all IP stakeholders are properly tracked in the CRM for program implementation and long-term institutional relationships management.
* Analyze data, generate and/or assist with the development of regular performance reports.
For example, tracking and analyzing resource downloads, content engagement, institutional adoptions, campaign metrics, etc.
to support data-informed decision-making.
* Maintain files/records of the following: IP learners reached, education/industry partners, volunteers, contracts, surveys, and program/event/outreach metrics.
* Assist with financial reporting and projections, as needed.
* Support with invoice processing.
This includes follow-up for missing invoices.
* Co-facilitate and manage logistics of on-campus and virtual workshops, as assigned * Represent Michelson IP at community collaboration meetings or with community stakeholders alongside the Sr.
Program Manager.
* Support with grant-making/management activities, as needed.

* Assist with additional projects as assigned.
* For example: Creating an IP research library to house select articles, reports, and other helpful documents for ease of access and value add for partners.
*You’ve gotta have: * Successful candidates for this role will have a mix of the below experience, education, and skills.

* 2+ years of work experience in higher education, technology, and/or supporting entrepreneurship organizations * Working knowledge of the fundamentals of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets) and the ability to be conversationally fluent in the basics of IP with leaders and practitioners in the field.
Training or expertise in IP law is not necessary but interest and curiosity in IP will be key.
* Expertise with digital marketing/media platforms, tools and vendors; Canvas Hubspot and WordPress will get you bonus points! * Basic knowledge of graphic design/layout experience.
You are comfortable using platforms like Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
* Excellent verbal, written, and editing skills.
* Strong attention to details, project management, meeting deadlines/follow through.
* Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
* Willingness to work some nights and weekends; potential for travel.
* Action-oriented, strong track record as an implementer and self-starter.
