Central City Neighborhood Partners and the City of Los Angeles’s Mayor’s Office work together to fight urban poverty in the area formerly known as the Los Angeles Promise Zone, which includes the diverse communities of Pico-Union, Westlake, Wilshire Center, Koreatown, East Hollywood and Hollywood.
Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) is the key implementation partner of this initiative and will be the home of the VISTA Team at the Westlake/Pico-Union FamilySource Center.
CCNP is a community-based collaborative with the mission of advancing economic opportunities for low-income families by fostering partnerships and supporting positive community change.
Focused on the alleviation of poverty, and with the support of a dynamic and energetic team, CCNP implements an innovative one-stop model that streamlines the delivery of services, shares resources, and provides high-quality, coordinated and integrated services to the community that positively impact lives every day.
VISTAs will serve in a crucial role to support the goals of the initiative to significantly reduce poverty through 1) increasing economic opportunity, 2) improved educational opportunities 3) improved public safety 4) building equitable and sustainable neighborhoods.
VISTA members have a unique opportunity to serve with our project to develop a comprehensive set of strategies to address these goals, while serving with Mayor’s staff, Central City Neighborhood Partners, and other community-based organizations.
