Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant within our shared services accounting group who will be responsible for the general accounting functions for our Talent Management (TM) segment.
This position is responsible for day to day operations within the accounting function, working to centralize the TM responsibilities with increased efficiencies and internal controls.
This role will report directly to the company’s Director of Corporate Accounting, who oversees general accounting, financial reporting, and acquisitions and integrations functions.
General responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Liaise with offshore and onshore accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting
Liaise with counterparts in the finance department and TM business to establish and meet KPI’s, improve/reduce budget to actual discrepancies, support more accurate budget and actual reporting
Perform general accounting functions including month end journal entries, non-recurring accruals and/or adjustments, prepaids/deferrals and amortizations, balance sheet reconciliations
Continue to decrease the number of days in the monthly close cycle
Lead the outsourced accounting team in achieving PSI’s accounting initiatives
Work proactively and effectively with other departments within the organization to continue to increase collaboration and improve business processes
Oversee capitalization of software/content development costs in accordance with GAAP and PSI policy
Prepare or review deliverables requested from internal departments such as Tax, Proposals, Operations
implement the integration of new acquisitions into the existing accounting process
Prepare/review consolidated balance sheet reconciliations ensuring timeliness and accuracy of reporting
Assist with annual audit requests for general accounting deliverables
Assist with proper course of action/resolution for all escalated inquiries/disputes from outsourced team
Ensure entries and adjustments are being booked according to GAAP as well as PSI policy
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to drive operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity
Assist in developing and ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of controls, policies and procedures for the corporate accounting functions; ensure compliance with corporate policies
Assist with preparation of documentation for SOX compliance, external financial audits, bank reporting, etc.
Assist in or prepare ad hoc or recurring reporting requests or projects
Qualifications and Desired Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
3-4 years’ experience with GAAP; public accounting experience a plus
CPA preferred
Advanced analytical, communication and time management skills
Advanced skills in MS Excel
Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with other business units
Ability to solve problems and implement process improvements
NetSuite experience is preferred
