*SUMMARY*
Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Lead, the Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for activities of the accounts payable function and daily processes associated with the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing invoices and payment of invoices, and communication with vendors.
The Accounts Payable Assistant ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.

Processes vendor invoices, employee expense reports and check requests for payment.
Responsible for analysis, research, resolution and providing documentation for all accounts payable inquiries by vendors and other finance staff.
Generates checks and EFT’s for recurring payables.
Reviews invoices for proper coding, authorization and accuracy.
Periodically reconciles vendor statements to CII records.
Identifies 1099 vendors in Accounts Payable system.
Assists in the review and process of yearly 1099’s.
Ensures vendor invoices are appropriately tracked and filed.
Initiates emails and calls to support vendor questions and concerns.
Supports the AP Lead with all functions of the accounts payable process.
Assists management with any special projects.
*ADDITIONAL DUTIES*
Prints checks on a weekly basis and performs special check runs as needed.
Uploads EFT Payments on a weekly basis and in special circumstances.
Performs daily transaction entry into Accounts Payable system.
Matches checks with supporting documents for review by AP Lead.
Attaches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.

*EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
* Associate's degree or equivalent in Accounting from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
*OTHER QUALIFICATIONS*
* Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.
* This position may require some travel.
* Ability to handle confidential information.
* Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.
* Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
